Playing Catch Up

Man, I can't believe I haven't posted anything since April. "Bad Blogger!"  I am slapping my hand as I type.  Okay maybe that's not possible.  I will slap my hand, AFTER, I finish typing.  Its been a busy 3 months.  I feel like my plate is so full right now.  I feel so much busier being a stay at home momma than I did when I was working.  Anyhow, lets see...whats been going on?

Well for starters, the family and I went to Tokyo Disneyland for vacation at the end of May.  It was a great trip.  We stayed at the New Sanno Hotel for a week and took the subways around the city and to Disneyland.  The plan was to visit Disneyland and DisneySea.  However, my kids weren't in the best of mood at Disneyland.  Not sure what their deal was as they had been to Disneyland before in California.  They were just whining and not wanting to get on certain rides.  We decided to 86 DisneySea for the next day because I just didn't want to go through the aggravation again.

Besides that, overall it was a great trip.  So glad that God blessed us with an opportunity to travel and experience new things.

In other "me" news, I was obedient to God and applied for a PWOC (Protestant Women of the Chapel) position.  I felt led to apply for a position since February but was hesitant.  I had all sorts of excuses in my head.  I'm pregnant, I haven't been here (Guam) for that long, I am already busy with my AOSC position, the list goes on.  For the past year, I had been praying to God about drawing much closer to Him and having Him show me how I can be used.  Plus, I had a yearning to get to know more ladies on base and this was a great opportunity to do so and so since I didn't step forward, he led someone to just simply ask me, "Hey, would you be interested?"  Once that happened, I knew it was Him and I knew I had to do it.  So now I am the Administrative Coordinator for PWOC for the next year.  I've been diligently praying about my role and anticipating what God has in store for PWOC and myself for the next year and I can't wait to see what is revealed.

And the last announcement of the day is that I am 35 weeks pregnant today!  Boy has this pregnancy been on the fast track.  Seems like only yesterday that I was in denial and waited FOREVER to take a pregnancy test because I just KNEW it wasn't possible that we were having a 3rd child.  Was not expecting it.  But I am grateful for another beautiful baby and can't wait to meet her.  Here is a picture I took last week.  Curious to see how much bigger I am going to get within the next month.

Feels like Spring...

So I meant to do a follow up to the Women's Retreat the other week.  Well, things didn't go quite as planned.  For 1.) Hubby went TDY for 2 weeks and 2) I technically spent less than 24 hours at the retreat as I had to leave early because one of my daughters got sick :(    Anyhow, despite the short time there, it was still a blessing.  Met some wonderful ladies and got to know a friend even better as she joined me at the retreat.

So on to this week...Not too much happened.  Hubby finally came back (THANK GOD).  I know this time apart was nothing compared to his deployment last year but I tell ya...trying to take care of 2 kids while pregnant is no easy task and so the 2 weeks felt more like 9 months in my eyes!!

Another great thing that happened this weekend were the Easter photos that my girls took.  I didn't have any high expectations for what kind of photos I wanted of them.  I just thought if I could whip out one good photo to share with the family then that's great.
Well, http://brynjaphotography.blogspot.com/  totally took the girls Easter photos and cooked up something so MAGNIFICENT!  I couldn't believe how great their photos turned out.  Here's a peek...

I was so super impressed with these pics....I can't wait for my maternity photos and definitely can't wait for the baby to come so I can throw her in the mix with more pics of her and her two BIG sisters.

Girls Rule!

I have been running around like a chicken with my head cut off the last few weeks and so I forgot to post something "Very Important" that I learned the other day.  So after just about 10 years of marriage and 2 dear daughters-we just knew our "3rd Surprise Baby" would be our last and that it would be a boy!  Well....guess what???  We were wrong.  Baby#3 is another precious little girl.

We were surprised.  I just knew it would be a boy and so did my husband.  He was a tiny bit disappointed but I had to quickly remind him that he needed to look in the mirror on this one as I have nothing to do with gender determination!  That is all on God and him!

My girls were super excited.  They were really wanting another sister so as my 3 year old put it she's happy to have another "sister baby."  Yes I said "sister baby."  Those are her words not mine. lol

Regardless of the surprise, I am happy.  I love my girls and can't wait to have this one as well.  The teenage years are going to be SUPER FUN in our household!  NOT!!!

Tomorrow I am heading out for a women's retreat through the Chapel that I am super excited about.  I will definitely have to give an update on the blessed weekend to come.

Valentines Day and Getting Around the Island

I've been doing just what I said I wasn't going to do.  That is, slacking on my job doing this blog.  I must do better...I can do better.  And since I'm late, today is a 2fer on the blog posting. Anyhow, sooo...lets see what's been happening.  Well Valentines weekend, my husband and I got a chance to go to a marriage retreat at the Mariott which was put on by the Chapel on base.  It was a great time. They discussed the 5 Love Languages.  I had no idea that we had primary love languages.  They also gave us a great idea about doing date nights by having a "date night jar" full of ideas of things that we want to do.  I pretty much ran out a day or two later and picked up a jar.  I plan to decorate it and so I will definitely post that once its complete.  Here's a photo of some of our lovely friends and their spouses at the marriage retreat.

In other news, this past weekend was a holiday weekend and so I am proud to say that I was able to drag my husband out of the house to sightsee a little.  We went visited 3 places: the Plaza de Espana, Latte Stone Park, and Two Lovers Point. Guam has alot of history.  The Plaza de Espana was the Spanish Governor's Palace from 1669 until the invasion of the World War II.  There's a circular house there called the "Chocolate House," which is where the Governor and guests had hot chocolate and tea.

My kids were totally obssessed with this structure simply because it was called the "Chocolate House."  There's not much too it anymore and yet they just loved it because of its name.

Here's a few more pictures from Plaza de Espana.

We then made our way over to Latte Stone Park which is where were built around 500 AD and are thought to be pillars for elevated houses. There was also a Japanese cave around the corner which my kids were scared to go in.

And lastly, we ventured over to Two Lovers Point.  This place has a legend that a couple whose lovers would not allow them to marry, tied their hair together and jumped to their deaths from this 378 ft. cliff.  This place has some amazing views.

New Addition

I've been late on updating my blog.  I told myself I'd commit to updating it at least once a week. But I was holding out for some BIG and exciting news!  Our family will have a new addition this year! I am 3 months pregnant!  The baby is due August 13, 2011.   It was so unexpected since my hubby and I talked about only having 2 children but God had other plans, which is totally fine with me!  I went to the doctor's office yesterday for my 12 week appointment and we saw the baby on the ultrasound and the heartbeat, which was a sigh of relief.  The baby looked great but must have been sleeping because it didn't want to move :\

It looks like I should be finding out the gender around the end of March.  We are hoping for a boy as that would be a nice surprise to complete our family.  But of course, if its another girl, we're still happy. We told the girls the news yesterday and they were very excited, but my oldest insisted that she is not changing any dirty diapers and that Daddy would have to "do the stinky part."  Now Im just praying for a healthy and safe pregnancy and if this nausea could go away, that would be fantastic as I haven't done crap around my house because of it!

Happy New Year! Welcome 2011!

So its a brand new year.  So thankful to God for his many blessings over the past year.  Now looking forward to what 2011 brings.  Im glad I started this blog at the New Year, although, I should have started this 3 months ago when we first got to Guam.

Anyhow last night, we were able to get out and enjoy New Years Eve on base down at Targaue Beach.  My hubby served as the DJ.  The party was full of music and karaoke right on the beach.  We had such a great time with everyone.  I managed to get up and sing "American Boy" by Estelle f/ Kanye West.  Lets just say....I probably should know my limits and stick to "my lane" when choosing a karaoke song. But all in all, it was a great time!
